In May of 2014 the idea of an annual day devoted exclusively to cross stitch was born. A small group of avid cross stitchers decided on a name and day to hold this new event.
Near the end of July the World Cross Stitch Day page was created on Facebook and with very little publicity it reached 750 likes by August 8, 2014, which was the first annual World Cross Stitch Day.
The tenth annual World Cross Stitch Day will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 and we are trying to reach more people in a more user friendly way with the creation of this web page.
We will be keeping the Facebook page too, so please be sure and like us there.
On July 21, 2023 WCSD launched a new Facebook group. In this group you will be able to ask questions and discuss your cross stitch triumphs and concerns. Come join the conversation.
